The Cunning Wolf

          One  day  a  wolf  went  for  hunting. He  caught  a  fat  rabbit. While  he  was  eating  it, a  sharp  bone  stuck  in  his  throat. He  was  in  great  pain. He  went  from  animal  to  animal  begging  them  to  remove  the  bone  from  his  throat. None  came  near  him. They  were  afraid  of  him. At  last  he  came  to  a  crow  and  begged  her  to  remove  the  bone  and  promised  a  reward. The  crow  agreed.

             The  bold  crow  put  her  beak  into  the  throat  of  the  wolf  and  pulled  out  the  bone. She  then  asked  for  the  promised  reward. you  silly  thing, said  the  wolf  furiously, “Don’t  you  know  that  you  are  lucky  to  have  thrust  your  neck  in  my  throat  and  that  I  did not  bite  it? That  reward  is  enough  for  you”.

Evil Is Paid In The Same Coin

          A  fox  and  a  crane  lived  in  a  forest. The  fox  was  a  cunning  animal. One  day  he  wanted  to  make  fun  of  the  crane. So  he  invited  the  crane  to  a  dinner. When  the  crane  sat  for  the  dinner, the  fox  served  the  soup  in  a  flat  dish. The  crane  with  its  long  beak  could  eat  nothing  while  the  fox  himself   making   the  dish  clean. The  crane  had  to  skip  its  dinner  and  it  returned  home  hungry. It  felt  insulted  and  wanted  to  take  revenge  upon  the  fox.

               After  a  few  days  the  crane  invited  the  fox  to    dinner. He  served  the  soup  in  a  jar  with  a  long, narrow  neck. The  fox  could  eat  nothing. He  kept  licking  only  the  outside  of  the  jar  while  the  crane  enjoying  the  soup. The  fox  was  paid  in  the  same  coin.

Lame Excuses

        Once  a  fox  was   very  hungry. He  went  about  in  search  of  food. He  reached  a  garden  and  saw  bunches  of  fine, ripe  grapes  hanging  from  a  vine. His  mouth  watered  at  the  sight  of  them. He  wanted  to  eat  them. So  he  jumped  again  and  again  to  reach  them, but  in  vain. The  grapes  were  hanging  too  high  for  him  to  get  at  them.

             At  last  he  gave  up  the  attempt  and  went  away  saying, “ the  grapes  are  sour. If  I  eat  them, they  will  make  me ill”.

Nip The Evil In The Bud

                  

   A  rich  man  had  a  good  and  obedient  son  but  unfortunately  he  fell  into  bad  company  at  school. His  father  advised  him  to  keep  the  bad  boys  at  arm’s  length  but  his  advice  fell  flat  on  the  boy. He  was  spending   his  time  with  bad  boys  and  wasted  his  precious  time  in  idle  talks. His  father  was  tired  of  his  evil  ways. The  rich  man  was  painted  to  see  the  bad  report  about  his  son  sent  by  the  headmaster  of  the  school.

            The  father  thought  of  a  clever  plan. He  brought  some  fresh  apples  from  the  market. He  purchased  a  rotten  apple  also. He  asked  the  boy  to  put  the  apples  into  a  basket. The  father  placed  the  rotten  apple  among  them. Next  day  the  father  asked  his   son  to  bring  the  basket  of  apples. When  the  boy  brought  the  basket, he  found  that  all  the  apples  had  rotten. The  boy  told  his  father  that  the  one  bad  apple  had  spoiled all  the  good  apples. The  father  advised  the  boy  that  just  as  a  rotten  apple  can  spoil  all  good  apples, similarly  a  bad  boy  can  ruin  the  lives  of  many  good  boys. The  boy  learnt  a  lesson  and  gave  up  the  company  of  the  bad  boys.

MORAL : BETTER  ALONE  THAN  IN  A  BAD  COMPANY
