A fox and a crane lived in a forest. The fox was a cunning animal. One day he wanted to make fun of the crane. So he invited the crane to a dinner. When the crane sat for the dinner, the fox served the soup in a flat dish. The crane with its long beak could eat nothing while the fox himself making the dish clean. The crane had to skip its dinner and it returned home hungry. It felt insulted and wanted to take revenge upon the fox.
After a few days the crane invited the fox to dinner. He served the soup in a jar with a long, narrow neck. The fox could eat nothing. He kept licking only the outside of the jar while the crane enjoying the soup. The fox was paid in the same coin.
